Communicating in a Multilingual Healthcare Setting:

Issues involving Health Care Interpreters

Please join us for a one hour panel discussion on the issues involving Health Care Interpreters. This is the second lecture of the 2009-2010 CHRMS Lecture Series which will be offered as a live presentation at Mount Sinai Medical Center of Chicago, and online via Webinar. Topics will include a discussion of the various modes of foreign language and sign language interpretation in the health care setting, and the inherent risk and legal considerations of each. A demonstration of the Illinois Video Interpreter Network (IVIN) program will also be given. IVIN is a live on demand video interpretation system currently in use at Mount Sinai Medical Center of Chicago.
