CHRMS 2014-2015 Webinar Series #1
"OSHA Launches On-Line Tool for Hospitals"
Wed, Sept 17, 2014 (12-1pm CST)
Guest Speakers:
Matthew Horn, JD - Partner, SmithAmundsen, LLC
Stephen Yates, CHT - President, Optimum Results
OSHA has identified hospitals as the most hazardous place to work in the United States, noting that the likelihood of an injury or illness resulting in days away from work is higher in a hospital than in the construction and manufacturing industries.
This webinar will provide a review of OSHA’s authority, and intent, to regulate the health care industry, and discuss the steps needed to develop OSHA compliant safety standards and programs, including an on-line resource launched by OSHA earlier this year.
OSHA believes that a hospital can combat high injury and illness rates and reduce hazards in the work place by creating and enforcing both a safety and health management system (also known as an injury and illness prevention program) and a safe patient handling program.
